How Whalepod collects, uses and protects your information.

1. Scope

This policy applies to Whalepod websites, applications and community services. It covers visitors, registered members, advertisers and people who submit verification or payment materials.

2. Information we collect

We collect account details such as email address and login identifiers; profile details you choose to provide; identity or entity verification materials; posts, comments, messages, media and reports; membership, advertising and payment-proof records; support communications; and technical information such as IP address, device, browser, timestamps and security logs.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, operate profiles and community features, deliver messages and email notifications, review content and reports, process verification and payment submissions, show and measure advertisements, prevent fraud and abuse, provide support, comply with legal obligations and improve reliability. We do not use private messages to provide investment recommendations.

4. Visibility and choices

Your public profile and content may be visible to other people. Post visibility and profile privacy controls let you limit certain information to the public, followers or yourself. Private and group messages are shown only to the relevant participants, except when access is necessary for safety, abuse investigation or legal compliance.

5. Sharing

We may share only the information needed with hosting, email, storage, security, analytics, payment and identity-verification providers acting for us. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganisation. Public content is naturally available to other users and may be shared outside Whalepod. We do not sell personal information for money.

6. Retention

We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably needed for the purposes above. Security, transaction, moderation and legal records may be kept longer where required. Deleted content may remain briefly in backups or logs. Forbidden content may be hidden and automatically removed under our moderation rules.

7. Security

We use access controls, authentication, logging and reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No internet service is completely secure. Keep your credentials confidential and notify support if you suspect unauthorised access.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of personal information, or withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. Some records cannot be deleted immediately where retention is required for security, fraud prevention or law. Requests may require identity verification.

9. International processing

Our service providers and infrastructure may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

10. Age requirement

Whalepod is intended only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Contact and updates

Use the support channel available in Whalepod for privacy questions or rights requests. We may update this policy when the service or law changes. Material changes will be communicated through the service where appropriate.
